Palantir just published the way forward for construction tech. We have been building it since 2022.
Two Palantir experts, writing in Construction Dive, describe the model Documint PM has been designing since 2022. The leader in the space, in print, in an industry trade. A huge validation.
Excited to say this out loud: Palantir just published the way forward for construction tech. It is what we have been designing and building at Documint PM since 2022. Palantir is the leader in this space. For two of their people to describe the model, in print, in a trade publication, is a huge validation.
The piece ran July 20, 2026 in Construction Dive, written by Jesse Velay-Vitow and Jonas Lang. They describe an ontology for construction: “a digital model of how your company actually operates: the proper nouns and verbs of your business and the relationships between them.” The verbs are what matter most. “Procure a material, assign a crew, execute a change order, validate a legal claim. Decisions made in one business process inform others. They are captured and compound.”
“Without an ontology, AI is a loose cannon with a good vocabulary and no foundation under it.”
Four conditions. Span the whole business. Work for the people “with mud on their boots,” designed “from the field inward, not the executive suite outward.” Give an experienced operator more awareness and more speed, an Iron Man suit and not a replacement. Let each fact be entered once and used everywhere.
That is Documint PM. Our Living Contract Model connects contracts, scope, estimates and schedules with decisions, procurement, change orders and daily field updates. DPM reconciles the four, detects drift from plan early, surfaces the cost and schedule impact, and ranks the recovery options still open. On contracts specifically, their line lands at home: linked to AI agents and field events, “the document becomes a living seal of approval on day-to-day operations. Deadlines can surface before they’re missed.”
DPM recommends, you decide, and your shop keeps the knowledge.
Where it fits for a trade shop
Palantir’s named partners are McCarthy, Thomas Cavanagh, Lennar. Different scale, same problem. We are building for the 10 to 250 person MEP shop that still runs on a founder’s shoulders. Started in 2022. The tech caught up two years ago. We have been building and testing for the last 18 months, by a 28-year plumber, on Amazon Bedrock on AWS.
Alex and team at Palantir: we know where the data falls through the cracks on a trade shop’s day. We are stoked to be building toward the same model, from the field, for the field. If any of this maps to what you’re seeing in the mid-market trade segment, call me. 😉
